Peace Poles
Part of Rotary's International Service Peace Program
Kona Sunrise Rotary has planted five peace poles in Western Hawaii at
the Civic Center, Innovations Charter School, and Kona Old Airport Park.
Two additional poles were planted at the Kona International Airport
by airport personnel.
Each pole has a decal that reads "May Peace Prevail on Earth" in either
4 or 8 languages.
Our International Service chair, Dave Bateman, was the one who got all the
peace stickers for our club in 2018.
We bought the PVC poles and the bags of concrete. Rotarians Dave Bateman,
Dennis Rast, Bernice Barnett, Barbara Kossow, Nestorio Domingo and others planting all the poles
